Upcoming Wallace State Continuing Education Classes

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Continuing Education Department at Wallace State Community College announces the following upcoming courses:
Defensive Driving
The next Defensive Driving School will be held at Wallace State on November 29, at 5 p.m., in the basement of the Library. The fee for the class is just under $36.00, which includes the book.
Introduction to Genealogy
During this introduction to genealogy, participants will learn to find ancestors and trace family histories using historical information in the library and online, in databases, the census, journals, message boards, libraries, courthouses, military and other archives. Registration is $35. The class will be held on Fridays, December 7 and 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the WSCC Library.
CPR for Health Care Providers
This class provides American Heart Association CPR certification for health care providers. Those who successfully complete the class will receive a two-year AHA Card. Registration is $50 for the class, which will be held on December 12 at 5:30 p.m.
CDL Training
Commercial drivers are in high demand. This his four-week program that gets participants trained and ready for the commercial driver’s license and a new career. Classes start often.
Phlebotomy
Wallace State will host a free information session on December 3 at 6:30 p.m. for those interested in completing the 10-week Phlebotomy training program. Classes begin January 22. The information session will be held in Bevill Building Room 408.
Certified Nursing Assistant
Wallace State will host a free information session on December 3 at 5:30 p.m. for those interested in completing the seven-week Certified Nursing Assistant training program. Classes begin January 22. The information session will be held in Bevill Building Room 408.
Yoga
This class encourages stretching and strength building leading to more energy and less stress relief. It is for anyone interested in improving balance, strength, and flexibility. Classes are held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Burrow Center Choreography Room beginning Monday, December 3. Registration is $20.
