HANCEVILLE, Ala.–The Miss Wallace State Pageant will be held Sunday, January 13, at 3 p.m. in the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre located on campus at the Student Center.
Reigning Miss Wallace State Sara Beth Drake will emcee the event.
The Miss Wallace State Pageant is a preliminary pageant for the Miss America Organization, which provides millions of dollars in scholarship money to contestants throughout the United States. Miss Wallace State 2013 will compete for the title of Miss Alabama in June 2013 at Samford University.
The following eight contestants will compete in this year’s event:
The competition is divided into five phases of competition, including interview (25 percent), talent (35 percent), fitness (15 percent), on-stage question (5 percent) and evening wear (20 percent).
All contestants receive a cash scholarship. The winner will also receive a one year tuition and fees scholarship to Wallace State.
Admission is $7.
