Train to be a phlebotomist in only 7 weeks

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Continuing Education department is now accepting students for its seven-week phlebotomy course. Classes will begin on Aug. 9.
The phlebotomy course offered through the Continuing Education department trains individuals to collect blood samples properly and interact with healthcare personnel, and prepares them for the certification exam.
The August session is the first of two offered over the coming months. A second session will be held Nov. 10-Jan. 19. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The course fee is $1,599 and includes the textbook and exam fee.
A free information session about this and other short-term health courses offered by Continuing Education will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, in the ninth floor of the James C. Bailey Center.
