“We’ve been playing good defense, and the team is beginning to buy in that defense is going to win games for us. The offense will follow,” said Wallace State coach Ron Burdette, whose team played its first home game since Nov. 8. “It was good to get some players in who haven’t been playing a lot and get them some experience. It helps them mentally as we move forward.”

Sophomore Morgan Higgins added six points for the Lady Lions.

Wallace State led comfortably throughout. The Lady Lions jumped out a 13-0 lead with 5:04 to go in the first quarter. Hollis scored seven of Wallace State’s opening 13 points.

Wallace State led 27-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Lions pushed their lead to 45-15 with 3:30 remaining in the second quarter on a Cooper 3-pointer.
