Tanner donation
Margot Tanner (left) presents Donny Wilson, director of the Evelyn Burrow Museum at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, with a copy of “If Walls Could Talk: Whispers From Cullman, Ala.” a compilation of sketches by the late Cullman artist Dot Graf. Originally from Germany, Tanner was introduced to Graf by Mary Evelyn Holloway, her choir director at First United Methodist Church of Cullman. Tanner translated the book into German for her father and added illustrations of her home in Cullman and her family’s ancestral home in Eschwege, Germany, built in 1648. Tanner said she and her husband sponsored a Wallace State student and she has visited the museum several times, which were factors in her decision to donate the book to the museum.
