Wallace State Theatre Presents Shrek The Musical Nov. 7-10; Enjoy a Fairy Tale Feast with Characters from the Show on Nov. 9

HANCEVILLE, Ala.—The Wallace State Theatre Department will present the Broadway sensation, Shrek The Musical, at the Betty Leeth Haynes Theatre in the Wallace State Student Center, November 7-10.

Evening performances will be held Thursday, November 7, at 7 p.m., and Friday, November 8, at 7 p.m.  Matinees are scheduled Saturday, November 9, at 2 p.m., and Sunday, November 10, at 2 p.m.

Originally produced on Broadway by DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Shrek The Musical brings the charming, hilarious story of everyone’s favorite ogre to stage. In a faraway kingdom turned upside down, things get ugly when an unseemly ogre – not a handsome prince – shows up to rescue a feisty princess. Throw in a donkey who won’t stop talking, a villain with a short temper, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. His name is Shrek.
Featuring a terrific score, big laughs, great dancing and scenery befitting a lighthearted, yet twisted, fairytale romance, the Wallace State production is directed by Lauren Cantrell-Salerno with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori.

Tickets to the show are $10 for adults and $5 for students, available at the door.
