Miss Wallace State Pageant to be held Sunday
HANCEVILLE, Ala.–The Miss Wallace State Pageant will be held Sunday, February 16, at 3 p.m. in the Recital Hall at the Ottis and Evelyn Burrow Center for the Fine and Performing Arts on campus.
The Miss Wallace State Pageant is a preliminary pageant for the Miss America Organization, which provides millions of dollars in scholarships to contestants throughout the United States. Miss Wallace State 2014 will compete for the title of Miss Alabama in June at Samford University.
The following eight contestants will compete in this year’s event:
Sarah Robbins of Hayden, 20, who will perform a gymnastics routine to “Jailhouse Rock”
Tahauny Cleghorn of Cullman, 20, who will sing “Not a Day Goes By”
Catee Moss of Andalusia, 20, who will dance to “Time of My Life”
Casey Capps of Bremen, 20, who will sing “Make You Feel My Love”
Andrea Micelli of Gotha, Fla., 20, who will perform an acro-dance to “Happy”
Anna Parrish of Boaz, 18, who will perform a gymnastics routine to “My First Kiss”
Trinity Earwood of Baileyton, 18, who will sing “I Won’t Let Go”
Brittany Robinson of Sylacauga, 21, who will perform “Solfeggietto in C minor” on piano
The competition is divided into five phases, including interview (25 percent), talent (35 percent), fitness (15 percent), on-stage question (5 percent) and evening wear (20 percent).
All contestants receive a cash scholarship. The winner will also receive a one year tuition and fees scholarship to Wallace State.
Admission is $5 for students, including Wallace State students, and $7 for adults.
