HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Anyone who has ever wanted to take in a Broadway show, stroll through Central Park or shop the markets that set fashion trends can do that during a Spring Break trip to New York City.
The Wallace State Community College Alumni Association is planning a trip to the Big Apple March 28-31, 2015. The four-day trip will include dinner in Little Italy followed by a Broadway show, special guided shopping trips to chic boutiques in Soho, NoLita and Chinatown, a tour of Manhattan, plus time to spend on your pursuits or interests.  The trip is open to the public.
“New York is such a melting pot of different cultures, opportunities and entertainment, we thought it was the perfect destination for one of annual trips,” said LaDonna Allen, Alumni and Special Projects Coordinator.
“We will be staying at the Park Central Hotel in downtown Manhattan, located in the heart of the city and near some of the city’s best attractions — Central Park, Time’s Square and so much more,” Allen added. “I can’t wait to get there and visit the Empire State Building, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and, of course, see a Broadway show.”
The particular show the group will see has not been selected yet, Allen said. That will be decided after the spring shows are announced.
The cost of the trip starts at less than $1,500 and includes transportation to Birmingham airport, round-trip air fare to New York, transportation while in NYC, accommodations, baggage handling, gratuities, tax and transfers. The cost of planned tours, the Broadway show, a dinner and one lunch is also included. Additional tours or excursions will be available at additional cost.
The costs break down as determined by room occupancy. A quad occupancy is $1,364 per person, triple occupancy is $1,425 per person, double occupancy is $1,515 per person and a single occupancy is $1,915.
An initial deposit of $350 per person is due by Nov. 20, with final payment due by Feb. 1, 2015. For more information, contact LaDonna Allen at 256.352.8017 or ladonna.allen@wallacestate.edu , or visit www.wsccalumni.org/NewYork2015.
