WSCC Concert Band to present Veterans Day program

The Wallace State Community College Symphonic Band performs “A Salute to Veterans” in 2013. The band will present its 2014 “A Salute to Veterans” at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Burrow Center Recital Hall.

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Symphonic Band will present a special performance honoring service men and women at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4, in the recital hall of the Burrow Center for Fine and Performing Arts.
Under the direction of Terry Ownby, the band will present “A Salute to Veterans” featuring a blend of patriotic songs. “We will honor those men and women who are currently serving or who have served in the military to defend the United States of America,” Ownby said. “Please come out and join us for this wonderful afternoon of music.”
The song selection planned for the event include “Fanfare and Flourishes,” “Second Suite F for Military Band,” “American the Beautiful,” “Cumberland Cross,” “Marches of America” and “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”
The concert is free and open to the public.
