Tickets on sale for Little Black Dress Charity Bash
HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Tickets for one of the most entertaining nights of the year are now on sale. The Wallace State Community College Alumni Association will hosts its Little Black Dress Charity Bash on Saturday, Feb. 28, at Top of the Town in Cullman. It is the association’s largest scholarship fundraiser of the year.
“This event is the ultimate in a girl’s night out,” said LaDonna Allen, Alumni and Special Projects Coordinator. “Those attending get to dress up, enjoy a fabulous dinner, are waited on by a select group of celebrity waiters, and enjoy an evening of dancing, camaraderie and fun — all for a good cause.”
Proceeds from the event fund the Outstanding Women Scholarships, which go to help women who might not otherwise be able to attend college. The scholarships help pay for tuition, books and other expenses.
This year’s Little Black Dress Charity Bash is a little different from those in the past. This year, those attending can wear any color dress they choose to the dinner. “We thought it would be fun to let the women wear something besides black,” Allen said. “I can’t wait to see all the shades that will come through the door.”
Those attending can also look forward to include a silent auction and live music by the Bootyshakers band. “It’s going to be a blast,” Allen said. “I know we will have many people returning to the Charity Bash, but if you haven’t been before, it’s a really great night.”
The menu for the event includes an Italian leafy green salad with vinaigrette, stuffed Italian chicken with alfredo sauce, bowtie pasta with artichoke and roasted red pepper crème sauce, grilled white asparagus, fresh rosemary bread and a dessert bar.
Gentlemen volunteering to serve as celebrity waiters and maître d’s include: Nathan Anderson, Paul Bailey, Steve Barnett, Jimmy Drake, Joseph Fisher, Mark Gamble, Scott Graham, Jason Grimmett, Jimmy Hodges, Billy Jackson, Derek Lane, Kolby Lawrence, Dr. Johnny McMoy, John Nyquist, Mike Ponder, Dr. Craig Ross, Terry Shabel, Perry Shields, Steve Sides, David Wiggins, Jon Wilbanks, Preston Wiley, Tom “Big Doc” Williamson, Tony Woodruff, and more to be named later.
The list of vendors to date includes: Backstage Boutique, Better Than Before, The Candle Garden, Jack’s Western Wear and Outdoor Wear, Nadiya’s Patio Store, MoMo SHE 103, Serendipity Home and Gifts, Werner’s Trading Company, What a Girl Wants and Younique Boutique. Vendors will display fashion and home trends for 2015 and provide discount coupons for those in attendance.
Tickets are $75 per person and will be required to enter the event. You must be 21 to attend. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the event held from 6 to 11:30 p.m. Photographs will be taken by ALC Photography.
