Wallace State’s Community Education offering hip-hop dance classes
HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Wallace State Community College’s Community Education is offering weekly hip-hop dance classes from Jan. 15 to Feb. 5.
The hip hop dance classes will be taught by Michael Lake, who has danced and provided choreography for internationally-renowned Christian artist Eddie James. Lake also travels and minister with dance youth conferences under Michael Lake Dance Productions and teaches workshops around the nation.
During this class, Lake will teach not only the technicality and skill of hip-hop, but the style and as well. Students will learn to interpret music into stylish dance moves and also learn a warm-up routine designed to get their blood pumping, followed by a stretch routine that will provide flexibility as well as to help avoid any injury. Students will be taught new choreography every day as well as being drilled on the choreography they have already learned.
Classes are scheduled for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Thursday until Feb. 5. Registration fee is $40. To register call 256.352.7826 or email Alicia.stricklin@wallacestate.edu.
