Wallace State First Choice Among Alabama’s Community College
HANCEVILLE, Ala. – According to a report released recently by The American College Testing service (ACT), Wallace State Community College in Hanceville is the first choice among Alabama’s community colleges by high school students in the graduating class of 2014.
More students indicated Wallace State as their first choice preference for college than any other community college in the state. Wallace State also ranked higher than Birmingham Southern College, University of Montevallo, Samford University, the University of West Alabama, the Universities of Georgia and Mississippi, Vanderbilt, the University of Mobile, and other universities both in state and out of state as the first choice for high school seniors. The ACT section on Career and Educational Aspirations collected the college preferences for 37,985 respondents.
Wallace State consistently ranks near the top in listings highlighting the best community colleges and programs in the country. Most recently, the college ranked among the “Top 50 Associate Degrees: Health Professions & Related Programs” as reported by “Community College Week.”
