“Haven Albright has just had a phenomenal two weeks. If she keeps going like that later this week, I like our chances. Those 3-pointers help get our energy going and when we shoot it well, it seems we move better on defense,” said Wallace State women’s coach Ron Burdette. “We are happy to get out of here with a win. At this time of the year, it’s one and done. We’ve got one out of the way.”
Morgan Hardy scored nine points for Wallace State and Kasey Sparks added seven points off the bench.
For Enterprise State (7-15), Shayanne Petterman scored 19 points. Erin Spencer added nine points. The Lady Boll Weevils were the South Division’s No. 6 seed.
The remainder of the ACCC/Region 22 tournament will be held at Faulkner State in Bay Minette.
Wallace State will play the host Faulkner State Lady Sun Chiefs (19-8) for the first time this season. Faulkner State is the South’s second seed in the tournament. The game will be streamed live at www.ihigh.com.
Burdette has led Wallace State to a pair of runner-up finishes (2012, 2013) in the ACCC/Region 22 tournament.
