Wallace State Future Foundation plans 11th Student Investment Luncheon

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Supporters of Wallace State Community College are invited to attend the 11th annual Student Investment Luncheon and Auction, the largest fundraiser by the Wallace State Future Foundation to raise funds to provide scholarships for students.
The money raised at the luncheon is invested as scholarships for tuition, fees and books across all programs at Wallace State for academically successful students. That includes students enrolled in accelerated high school programs such as Fast Track Academy and Dual Enrollment.
Last year, the event raised more than $200,000, which resulted in more than 300 students receiving more than $175,000 in scholarships for the 2014-2015 year.
This year, the event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Tom Drake Coliseum.
“Our goal at Wallace State is for our students to succeed academically, professionally and personally,” said Suzanne Harbin, Director of Advancement. “There are times when they need some financial assistance with tuition or to pay for books or fees, such as those incurred with certification exams. It’s an honor and privilege to be able to help these students make their dreams come true.”
The annual event features silent and live auctions, with items of interest to everyone. Everything from baked goods to antiques to vacation trips. Donations of items for the auctions are now being accepted. The doors will open at 10:30 a.m., to allow plenty of time to view the items on the auction block.
Those attending the luncheon have several sponsorship opportunities. Individual tickets are $125. Group sponsorships include $1,000 for Silver Table Sponsor, $2,500 for Gold Table Sponsor, and $5,000 for Premier Table Sponsor. All group sponsorships provide meals for eight guests, preferred seating and sponsorship recognition, recognition in the event program and in the Future Foundation Annual Report, and the opportunity to designate your donation to a specific fund or program. The Gold Table Sponsor will provide two bookstore scholarships in the donor’s name of $750 each. The Premier Table Sponsor will provide a $4,000 one-year tuition/fees scholarship in the sponsor’s name.
