No. 18 Wallace State volleyball closes regular season with perfect ACCC mark
HANCEVILLE, ALA. – No. 18 Wallace State volleyball wrapped up the regular season Wednesday night at Gadsden State, finishing off a perfect 14-0 mark in Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) play.
Wallace State (36-6) defeated Gadsden State 27-25, 18-25, 25-20, 25-17, extending its ACCC winning streak to 28 matches. The Lions haven’t dropped an ACCC match since Oct. 2013.
Sophomore CeCe Hall, an Alabama commit, finished with 18 kills and three blocks for Wallace State, Kheala Roberts had 11 kills and sophomore setter Alexandra Gamble contributed 38 assists.
MaKenzie Bearden, a freshman from Geraldine, added nine kills for the Lions, Kelsea Bivins had eight digs and six kills and August Newberry tallied seven digs.
Wallace State clinched its eighth consecutive ACCC regular season crown last week in a home victory over Faulkner State.
The Lions are the top seed in next weekend’s ACCC/Region 22 tournament at Gadsden State. Wallace State will seek its seventh ACCC tournament title.
