Tickets on sale for Little Black Dress Charity Bash 2016; Proceeds support scholarships for women at WSCC
HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Alumni Association is now selling tickets for its annual Little Black Dress Charity Bash. The 2016 event is moving to a new venue and will include a new shopping area with local vendors as well as door prizes for guests attending the event.
The Little Black Dress Charity Bash will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at the Cullman Civic Center. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature a catered meal by Designs by Grace and entertainment provided by The Flashbacks. Instead of the silent auction, this year door prizes will be awarded and guests will have the opportunity to shop from local vendors.
“We are excited about the move to the Cullman Civic Center,” said LaDonna Allen, Alumni and Special Projects Coordinator. “The new venue provides more room for everyone to spread out and enjoy visiting with each other. It also allows us the opportunity to offer new experiences for our guests, including the new shopping area featuring wonderful items from local businesses.
“We’re looking forward to the event and hope we will have many returning guests and vendors, as well as new guests who want to have girls night out with their friends and new sponsors who want to reach our audience,” Allen added.
As always, there will be celebrity waiters made up of men from the community who accept tips for their excellent table-side service. All of those tips and proceeds from ticket sales and vendor fees will go to the Outstanding Women Scholarship fund. Each year through this fund, the Alumni Association provides financial assistance to deserving applicants so that they may meet their educational goals. In the past, the scholarships have helped women pay for tuition, books or exam fees in order to receive certification required to obtain employment.
Ticket options for the Little Black Dress Charity Bash include $65 for a single ticket, $520 for a table of eight and $650 for a table of $10. Admission includes a catered four-course meal, which features a dessert bar. A coffee bar will be offered to top off the meal. Each guest will receive a gift bag containing coupons provided by sponsors.
