Lucie Lawrence named 2016 Wallace State Homecoming Queen
HANCEVILLE – Lucie Lawrence, a West Point High grad, is Wallace State Community College’s 2016 Homecoming Queen. She was crowned queen during halftime of the men’s basketball game Sunday afternoon vs. Gadsden State.
Lawrence, a general studies major, is active on campus, serving as a Wallace State Cheerleader and college ambassador. Lawrence was escorted by her father, Billy Lawrence, during the halftime festivities.
Other members of the 2016 Homecoming Court were Kanesha Ghee, a Pinson Valley graduate who finished first runner-up; Haley Turner, a nursing major from Corner; Kristen Cox, a finance major from Oneonta, and Ashley Blankenship, a forensic science major from Hayden.
Maira Cardenas, Wallace State’s 2015 Homecoming Queen, crowned Lawrence.
Both Wallace State basketball teams defeated Snead State on Sunday.
