Wallace State volleyball sweeps Lawson State, extending lengthy ACCC winning streak

HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Wallace State’s volleyball team swept Lawson State at Tom Drake Coliseum on Thursday night, prevailing 25-11, 25-18, 25-17.
The Lions (19-1, 6-0 Alabama Community College Conference) won their second conference match in as many days after defeating Southern Union on Wednesday night.
“I didn’t feel we played with the energy and enthusiasm that we needed against Southern Union, but tonight (Thursday) was much better. We came out with a lot of excitement and we were focused. Lawson State is a much improved team. If we weren’t prepared, we would have been in trouble,” said Wallace State coach Randy Daniel, whose team has won 10 matches in a row. “We have a lot of depth on this team. That’s one of our strengths. There’s always a quality player ready to come in and contribute.”
Wallace State extended its conference winning streak to 34 consecutive matches dating back to October 2013.
Wallace State swept both Southern Union (25-16, 25-12, 25-16) and Martin Methodist’s JV (25-9, 25-8, 25-11) on Wednesday.
