Wallace State students Nicholas Parrott and Riley Voce recognized at 2017 All-Alabama Academic Team Banquet

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Wallace State students Nicholas Parrott and Riley Voce were recognized today at the All-Alabama Academic Team Scholars banquet held at the Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa in Birmingham.
The All-Alabama Academic Team program started in 1995, honoring some of the most distinguished academic scholars and leaders within the Alabama Community College System (ACCS). The All-Alabama Academic Team Foundation conducts the annual banquet in association with the ACCS and the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Parrott is a sophomore majoring in Business Financial Management. He maintains a 3.81 grade point average at Wallace State, and plans to attend Mississippi State University to pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Finance and become a financial analyst. Adopted as an infant in Russia, one of his goals is to give back to his birthplace and help underprivileged youth and orphans.
Parrott, of Vinemont, is vice president of the Wallace State Student Government Association and treasurer of the WSCC Sigma Kappa Delta Society and Rotoract Club.
“Wallace State Community College is the best thing that has ever happened to me and the best decision I have ever made for my future,” Parrott said.
Voce is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration. He maintains at 3.77 grade point average at Wallace State, and plans to attend the University of Alabama to earn a bachelor’s degree in marketing. His goal is to open his own business and invest in other small businesses.
Voce, of Cullman, is a member of the Wallace State Rotoract Club and has maintained two jobs while earning a place on the Dean’s List or President’s List each semester.
“Wallace has prepared me for these challenges by community involvement, discipline in the classroom, and, of course, the classes have been applied throughout the way,” Voce said. “I will forever be thankful for what this community college has prepared me for and taught me along the way.”
