Wallace State's BASS fishing teams compete at College Championship

Wallace State’s BASS Fishing teams completed the 2017-2018 season at the BASS College Championship on Lake Tenkiller in Tahlequah, Okla., this month.
Among a field of more than 1,000 fishing teams, Wallace State was one of only five colleges to qualify four teams at the national championship.
Here are Wallace State’s finishes at Lake Tenkiller:
29th overall – Miller Spivey and Chandler Sickafoose
60th overall – Josh Butts and Reid Conner
71st overall – Will Harding and Cade Reeder
113th overall – Noah Garrett and Tyler Pendergrass
For Butts and Conner, they were only a year removed from winning the 2017 Carhartt Bassmaster College World Series Wild Card championship at Lay Lake. It marked Wallace State’s second Wild Card championship over a span of three summers.
Any current or incoming Wallace State student who is interested in joining the club, can contact Wesley Sams at 256.352.8366 or by email at wesley.sams@wallacestate.edu. Club membership is open to all Wallace State students, but tournament participants must be full-time Wallace State students in order to compete.
