Drama, art, dance on ArtsKids! Spring 2019 agenda
HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Fine and Performing Arts program is kicking Spring 2019 ArtsKids! programs, with options open for students interested in acting, dance and studio art.
BroadwayKids! begins Monday, Jan. 28 and will continue through May 7. Classes are held on Monday from 3:45 to 5 p.m. Students will meet and rehearse for a musical theatre production. The goal is for students in grades 3 to 8 to enhance their acting, singing and dancing skills. At the end of the semester, they will perform in a production of “Cinderella Kids.”

StudioKids! will be held from Feb. 4 to March 12, giving students experiences in drawing, painting, sculpture and graphic design. Classes will be held on Mondays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. Students in grades 3 to 8 will have projects each week that deal with different media such as watercolor, ceramic sculpture, computer graphics and traditional drawing.

The Spring 2019 session of DanceKids! is for students in grades 6-8 and will be held on Tuesdays from Feb. 5 to March 12. DanceKids! offers an innovative learning program designed to be a great introduction to the art form of ballet for students in grades 6-8. Students participate in a short ballet class each week, will study the ballet story Coppelia and learn a short dance from the ballet to be performed for friends and families the last week of class.
