HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Evelyn Burrow Museum at Wallace State Community College is winding down an exhibition featuring the photographs of acclaimed Alabama photographer John Dersham.
Dozens of photographs are on display in the Exhibit Hall of the Burrow Center for the Fine and Performing through Tuesday, May 21. The exhibition is a sampling of what can be seen in Dersham’s book “My Alabama: John Dersham Photographs a State.” The book includes 200 images revealing the diversity and beauty of the state of Alabama.
A closing reception for the exhibition and book signing will be held on Tuesday, May 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Burrow Center. Copies of Dersham’s book will be available for purchase and can be signed by the author.
“There are some truly beautiful photographs in this exhibit,” said Donny Wilson, director of The Evelyn Burrow Museum. “As 2019 is the bicentennial year for Alabama, I can’t imagine a more perfect time to display these photographs and celebrate the beauty of our state.”
The Evelyn Burrow Museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Exhibit Hall where the Dersham photographs are on display is open during the college’s regular business hours of Monday through Friday and during Museum business hours on Saturday.
