Wallace State Community College begins Fall 2019 semester; registration continues through Friday
HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Wallace State Community College has ushered in a new semester this week, and students still have time to begin their stories through multiple programs offered.
Fall 2019 registration at Wallace State continues through Friday, Aug. 23.
Amber Taylor 28, is among the new incoming students at Wallace State. She’s enrolled in a pair of prerequisite nursing classes this semester with hopes of applying for the program in the future. Wallace State’s new joint enrollment agreement with UAB’s nursing program has piqued her interest.
“I have a lot of friends back home who have earned their nursing degrees here and all have great things to say about the program,” said Taylor, a Dora native. “I would love the opportunity to begin here, finish at UAB and one day work at Children’s of Alabama.”
Clay McAlpin began college courses for the first time this week.
“It’s exciting and different. It’s definitely an adjustment to be in a classroom full of new people after seeing the same faces in middle school and high school,” McAlpin said. “Everyone here has been welcoming.”
Like Taylor and McAlpin, it’s not too late to begin your academic story at Wallace State. Classes are offered on the college’s main campus in Hanceville and in Oneonta. Wallace State offers day and night courses and also full online degree options in general studies, liberal arts, child development, computer science and more.
