Both Wallace State cross country teams win Huntingdon College Invitational title; No. 13 volleyball moves to 22-0

HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Both Wallace State cross country teams brought home hardware over the weekend, each winning the Huntingdon College Invitational title.
Wallace State’s men won the 8K race and the women prevailed in the 6K. Both teams are also the defending Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) champions.
Jaden Vance was the individual champion for the Wallace State men, clocking in at 28:26.3. The men accumulated 17 points.
Wallace State’s Tatiana Padgett had the top finish in the women’s 6K, finishing with a 25:28.1.
Maggie Graham placed third overall (27:13.5) for Wallace State, Breanna Smith was fourth (27:44.9), Juliana Ballew came in sixth (27:53.9), Makala Worrell was eighth (28:21.2) and Malia Howell ninth (28:28.7).
Ashleigh White placed 11th overall for the Lady Lions, finishing at 29:13.8, and Bailey Wick rounded out the field for Wallace State (31:22.3).
Wallace State’s next meet is in the UAH Chargers Cross Country Open at John Hunt Park on Saturday.
No. 13 Wallace State volleyball remains perfect
Wallace State’s 13th-ranked volleyball team has stretched its undefeated march to 22-0.
The Lions won four matches at LaGrange College between Friday and Saturday and moved to 7-0 in ACCC action with a sweep over Coastal Alabama-East on Sunday.
In LaGrange, Wallace State defeated Albany College (25-20, 25-16, 25-21), LaGrange College (25-10, 25-4, 25-10) Southern Wesleyan (25-16, 25-22, 25-18) and Southern Union (25-11, 25-9, 25-7).
Sophomore Karlee Hale finished with 43 kills over the four-match stretch for Wallace State, Harlee Kate Reid contributed 40 digs and 34 kills, Amryi-Grace Paris had 32 kills combined and Diamond Jones had 23 kills.
Freshman Anna Renshaw paced the Lions with 81 assists, while KaLea Davis added 61 assists. Lauren Seibert racked up a team-high 64 digs combined and Tori Walker added 34.
In a 25-14, 25-4, 25-14 win over Coastal Alabama-East, Jones had a team-high 11 kills, Reid finished with nine kills and four digs and Kaitlyn Doyle added six kills.
Walker racked up a team-high 15 digs, Seibert had nine and Kayla Thomas added eight.
Renshaw had 21 assists for Wallace State and Davis had 20.
Wallace State hosts Snead State on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
