Comedian Mike Goodwin to Deliver PULSE Keynote Address October 1-2 at Wallace State Community College
HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Comedian Mike Goodwin has been tapped to deliver the keynote address for Wallace State Community College’s first ever student development conference.
The Pathways United for Learning, Service, and Excellence (PULSE) experience is a two-day conference-style event that students will attend in place of their regularly scheduled classes. In addition to the keynote address, it provides workshop opportunities for gaining insights into students’ meta-majors as well as other kinds of soft and specialized skills that contribute to personal and professional development — all with an emphasis on service, success, and excellence. Students will also have various serve project options in which they may participate throughout Cullman and Blount Counties.
Mike Goodwin is a nationally recognized speaker recognized for his wit and thoughtfulness. Known as the “Bowtie Comedian,” he has built quite a reputation for addressing the topic of “leadership with laughter.” A graduate of both Lander University and the University of South Carolina, he is also a former officer in the U.S. Army Reserves and currently calls Columbia, S.C. home.
Goodwin will present the PULSE keynote address twice, in the Tom Drake Coliseum on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 8 a.m., and also on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m.
