Wallace State’s Center for Career and Workforce Development hosting Career Development Day and Campus Career Fairs in March

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Wallace State’s Center for Career and Workforce Development is hosting a pair of March events for students.

Career Development Day is scheduled for Wallace State students on March 4 and 5, at the second floor of the Bailey Center.

A Campus Career Fair is on Wednesday, March 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at Traditions Bank Arena at Tom Drake Coliseum and a Health Science Career Fair follows on Thursday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Peindhardt Conference Center, located at the School of Nursing and Center for Science.

The Career Development Days are to help prepare students for the Career Fairs.

“We’re excited to host both of these events in consecutive weeks. We encourage students to take advantage of both opportunities,” said Jamie Blackmon, Wallace State’s Director of the Center for Career and Workforce Development. “During our Career Development Days, we’ll take professional headshots, conduct mock interviews and assist with resumes. For the Career Fair, we are adding employers every day and appreciate the donations we’re receiving for student giveaways.”

Career Development Day on March 4 and 5 has the following schedule:

Career Development Day – March 4

8 to 9 a.m. – Work Wardrobe Pop-up Shop

9 to 11 a.m. – Professional Headshots

9 to 11 a.m. – Mock Interviews

11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Resume Consultations

Career Development Day – March 5

10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Career Prep Mini Session

11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Resume Consultations

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Professional Headshots

Student giveaways at the Career Fair include a $20 gift certificate to Southern Eats; two gift certificates to Domino’s; a Scentsy gift basket valued at $100; two bags of specialty popcorn from Kernal Kullman; baked goods from Nora Marie’s Pantry; a $100 value gift basket each from Red Fox BB Co. and Three Paws Seasoning.
