Wallace State raising funds to support students affected by Covid-19 pandemic

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Future Foundation is accepting donations that will support students who have been affected in some way by the Covid-19 pandemic. The emergency aid drive is aimed at helping students overcome unexpected challenges including food insecurity, technology needs to complete their education remotely and loss of income.

“The coronavirus pandemic has created additional burdens on many of our students who, in some cases, were already facing financial roadblocks before it began,” said Suzanne Harbin, Director of Advancement at Wallace State. “These donations will go to help these students directly to ensure they can complete their education and realize their dream of earning a certificate or degree that will help them improve their lives.”

Donations can be designated to one of five specific funds: Tame Hunger Meal Cards, Mane Miles Gas Cards, Finish With Pride Completion Scholarship, Laptops for Lions – Chromebook Loan Program, Lion’s Den Dorm Deposit.

The donations will help students currently dealing with immediate needs and assist students in the future as they rebound from pandemic’s far-reaching effects. Donations can be made individually or on behalf of an organization.
