Wallace State’s Dance program accepting scholarship video auditions through April 30

HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Wallace State Community College’s Dance program is conducting scholarship auditions via video submissions through Thursday, April 30. These scholarships will be applied for the 2020-2021 academic year.

Wallace State Dance program director Brooke Desnoёs said the submissions should include individuals performing solo routines. Submissions should not exceed 10 minutes.

“It’s important for the students to perform a routine they’re comfortable with and what they do best,” Desnoёs said.

Desnoёs, who founded the L’Académie Américaine de Danse de Paris (AADP), added that video submissions were popular audition avenues when she taught in Europe.

Students can send their audition multiple ways. One suggestion is to upload it to a personal YouTube page and email Desnoёs the video link.

Wallace State’s Dance program offers both an associate’s degree and short-term certificate option. For more information on the program, visit https://www.wallacestate.edu/fpa/dance
