Wallace State offers Drive-in WiFi from campus parking lots

HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Wallace State Community College is offering free drive-in WiFi access to students at the main campus in Hanceville and at both Oneonta campus locations.

Students can access the free WiFi by selecting the Guest network from most parking lots near major buildings at either location. This access is available to students 24/7, seven days a week, while Wallace State, like other educational institutions across the state, remains closed to in-person classes, at least through May 15. The college hopes this access will assist students in completing course assignments, registering for classes, and related activities.

The College is also providing WiFi access, laptops and other technology, which are available for student loan upon completion of a simple online application at https://bit.ly/WSCClaptop or through instructor referral. According to a survey of student technology needs early in the college’s transition to online instruction due to COVID-19, most students, more than 97 percent, were already equipped for online classes. Others have been accommodated through technology loans as requests have been received.

Wallace State’s main campus is located at 801 Main St. NW, Hanceville. The Oneonta Academic Center is located at 101 1st Ave. W., in downtown Oneonta, and the Oneonta Technical Center is located at 728 2nd Ave. SE, Oneonta.

Registration for Summer 2020 is currently underway, with classes beginning on May 20. Summer semester includes a full 10-week term and two 5-week mini-terms. For more information, visit www.wallacestate.edu or call 866.350.9722 or 256.352.8000.
