Regions Bank donates four bicycles for Wallace State Community College students

HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Regions Bank has donated four bicycles to Wallace State Community College for students to utilize across campus.

“Regions Bank has been gracious to the college in the past, and we’re excited to offer this opportunity for our students. These bikes are great assets if a student needs one for transportation on campus or for exercise. These are awesome additions to help engage students,” said Wallace State’s Jon Stephenson, Coordinator of Student Engagement.

Once proper health guidelines allow, the bicycles will be placed at the racks in front of the James C. Bailey Center.

Stephenson thanked Regions employees Will Harding and Floresha Woodall for each donating a pair of bicycles. Harding is the Cullman Market Executive and Commercial Banker for Regions, and Woodall is the Assistant Vice President of Regions and the Community Relations Manager at the company’s Birmingham headquarters.

“We love partnerships like we have with Wallace State, where we can bring in our business partners to engage with students and employees in what we call our Next Step financial wellness programs, support student scholarships through the Wallace State Future Foundation, and many other ways we can contribute to the success of Wallace State and its students, including the bikes for their students and staff to use across their beautiful campus. We look forward to many years of collaborating with Wallace State in various meaningful ways,” Harding said.

Stephenson’s department hosted financial forums for students during the past academic year, providing tips and best practices on proper money management and strategies.

“Those sessions were popular, and that’s where my interest in Regions was sparked. I think it’s important to have them involved, and we’ll revisit opportunities we can draft with them for a stronger presence on campus once the college is fully operational with students,” Stephenson said.

Regions Bank is a frequent partner with Wallace State, donating bikes and items in the past for the Future Foundation’s annual Student Investment Luncheon and Auction, and for campus career fairs.

Stephenson said the bicycles are also available for the college’s employees to enjoy.

“It’s perfect for a faculty or staff member to use for a lunch-time ride around campus. It should be beneficial for everyone,” Stephenson said.
