WSCC Medical Assistant program hosting informational meeting Friday, May 29
HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Persons interested in learning more about the Medical Assistant program at Wallace State Community College can attend an informational meeting via Zoom on Friday, May 29 at noon.
The program, and 14 others at the college, is currently accepting applications for Fall 2020 entry with a June 1 priority deadline. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a few adjustments have been made in admission procedures, especially regarding the ACT requirement for most programs. Students who were unable to take the ACT before tests were cancelled due to the coronavirus can still apply to the programs but should indicate in their application their intent to take the test in June to still be considered based on space availability.
The Medical Assistant program offers an Associate in Applied Science degree that can be completed in four semesters and a Medical Assisting Certificate in three semesters. Students admitted to the program can begin taking Medical Assisting classes in the fall as no pre-requisite courses are needed before applying.

Other programs taking applications for Fall 2020 include Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Imaging, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Emergency Medical Services, Health Information Technology, Medical Coding, Medical Laboratory Technician, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Pharmacy Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, Polysomnography (Sleep Lab) and Respiratory Therapy.
