Wallace State’s free short-term training programs hosting new bootcamp on March 4
HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Wallace State’s Adult Education Department and the Center for Career and Workforce Development are hosting a new bootcamp orientation for the next round of free training in the following campus programs: certified nursing assistant, culinary arts, diesel technology, phlebotomy and welding.
Orientation is scheduled for Friday, March 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 12th floor of the James C. Bailey Center.
The initial bootcamp, held in January, attracted more than 100 individuals. Among others, training for phlebotomy reached the max capacity.
“We were thrilled with the response we received in January. It’s a great opportunity for individuals who are looking to change their career path. Others may have had finances holding them back from pursuing a specific skill or their work schedules didn’t align with a program,” said Jamie Blackmon, Director of the Center for Career and Workforce Development. “We look forward to broadening the offerings in the future.”
Those interested in the training aren’t required to have earned a high school diploma or degree to be eligible to begin the training.
Training in culinary arts begins on March 7, diesel technology begins on March 14; phlebotomy on March 24; welding on April 4; and CNA on April 8.
