Wallace State’s Applied Technologies Division ranked 4th in nation as NC3 certification center

HANCEVILLE, ALA. –  Wallace State Community College’s Applied Technologies Division is ranked 4th in the country by the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) as one of the top colleges recognized as certification centers.
As a NC3 member, Wallace State works with industry partners in the area and certifies its students in multiple areas including diagnostics, diesel engines, wheel service and vehicle information management, multimeters, hybrid safety, tool control and torque technology, according to the NC3 website.
Additional curriculum is being developed for certifications in aviation, renewable energy and manufacturing.
Instructors within Wallace State’s Applied Technologies Division undergo NC3 certification training on an annual basis and have already produced 293 certifications this year.
“Our ranking is a testament to the fact we are on the right track in providing students some of the highest quality certifications in the nation, and we will continue to strive to be at the top,” said Jimmy Hodges, Wallace State’s Dean of Applied Technologies. “It’s affirmation to me that our division continues to move in the right direction and cares about the success of its students.”
Wallace State’s Applied Technologies Division includes agricultural production/horticulture, automotive service technology, aviation/flight technology, collision repair, academy of culinary arts, diesel technology, engineering technology, electronics technology, heating and air conditioning, machine tool technology, salon and spa management, tool and die technology, welding and poultry science.
