Wallace State students presenting Broadway Night May 3

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Wallace State Community College students will be showing off their dramatic and musical talents on Thursday, May 3, when they present Broadway Night at 7 p.m., in the Burrow Center Recital Hall.
Held at the end of the spring semester each year, Broadway Night is a student-led production from the Wallace State Theatre program. Students choose their own performance pieces and audition to be included in the show.
“Broadway Night is always lots of fun and it’s a wonderful way to see how the students has grown in their talent and self-confidence from the beginning of the semester and even from the fall term,” said Lauren Cantrell Salerno, director of the Wallace State Theatre department. “The students get to choose their own music, so it also provides some insight into their personality. I love watching them perform.”
Students will perform numbers they’ve chosen from “Kiss Me, Kate,” Dear Evan Hansen,” “Hamilton,” “Newsies,” “Waitress,” “Bonnie and Clyde” and more.
Students who will be performing include: Hannah Stringer, Cheyenne Teeling, and Riley Adams, of Cullman; Weslie Beasley and Essence James of Decatur; Samuel Hewitt of Albertville; Gage Swann of Hanceville; Samantha Drake, Eli Parker, Chloe Nutt and Conner Gully of Hartselle; Mary Lauren Davis of Florence, and Duke Cleghorn of Addison.
