HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Wallace State Community College’s fall semester is underway and there’s still time to enroll in classes! Late registration continues through Tuesday, Aug. 21.
Andrew Lee decided to attend Wallace State last fall after making visits to campus with his basketball team while at Fairfield High School.
“In high school, Wallace State seemed like a good place for me to come and get away from home a bit. The people always made a good impression on me,” said Lee, 19, a general studies major. “I definitely made a good decision, and I’m ready to begin my sophomore year.”
It’s not too late mark your new beginning in Hanceville or Oneonta. Wallace State offers day and night courses and also full online degree options in general studies, liberal arts, child development, computer science and more. Wallace State graduates are also in high demand upon completion.
“We receive calls weekly and sometimes daily from businesses that are interested in our students. Most of the time when our students approach the end of their educational career, they’ve already secured a part-time job and potentially have a full-time job lined up. A lot of our students are getting jobs right after their first semester,” said Jimmy Hodges, Wallace State’s Dean of Applied Technologies. “At Wallace State, with all majors, we produce a skilled and trained workforce for our local businesses and industry.”
Wallace State is recognized as one of the top community colleges in the nation and the first-choice community college for Alabama high school seniors taking the ACT.
Wallace State is an Achieving the Dream Leader College, and a three-time nominee for the Aspen Prize, a National League for Nursing Center for Excellence, an All-Steinway School and one of 30 community colleges selected to develop and pilot the American Association of Community College Pathways Project which involves a rethinking and redesign of the student experience from enrollment through completion.
