Meeting to spotlight health programs with openings this fall
HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Health Science programs with openings available for the Fall 2019 semester at Wallace State Community College will be on hand at an informational meeting on Thursday, June 27, at 10 a.m. on the 12th floor of the James C. Bailey Center on the Hanceville campus.
“This meeting is to let students know they do have options for this fall,” said Lisa German, Dean of Health Sciences. “Students who didn’t get into their first-choice program or anyone who wants more information about our programs are welcome to attend.
“They can learn about other programs that may help them reach their ultimate goal of employment in the medical field or possibly lead them down a path they hadn’t considered before,” German added.
After a brief overview of the programs, students can meet individually with representatives of each. The meeting is open to the public.
The programs that will be represented at the meeting include: Child Development, Emergency Medical Services, Health Information Technology/Medical Coding, Medical Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Assistant, Pharmacy Technology, Polysomnography, and Therapeutic Massage. Completion time for programs range from one to two semesters for certificates and up to five semesters for Associate degrees. Not all programs require completion of pre-requisite courses.
Classes for the Fall 2019 semester will begin Aug. 19. Priority registration begins July 8, with registration for all starting July 11.
