Broadway Night presented by Wallace State Theatre and Vocal Jazz Students this Thursday

Broadway nightHANCEVILLE – Broadway comes to Wallace State Community College on Thursday when the college’s Theater and Vocal Jazz students perform “Broadway Night,” an evening of musical theatre’s most popular show tunes. The event will take place on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Burrow Center for the Fine and Performing Arts Recital Hall.
Broadway Night will consist of lively music and dance numbers from students, paying tribute to the “Great White Way” — the Midtown section of New York City between 42nd and 53rd Streets that encompasses the Theatre District. (Broadway was one of the first electrically lighted streets in the United States, and the Theatre District is still identified by the illumination of millions of lights on theater marquees and billboard advertisements, especially around Times Square.)
Donations of $10 for adults and $5 for students are requested in lieu of tickets at the door.
This event is one of several the Wallace State choral program has planned to raise funds for its trip to the Kennedy Center, where Wallace State students have been invited to will perform this spring. The program is also providing Singing Valentines on Feb. 14.
