Career Tech Dual Enrollment Tax Credit News Conference

A news conference will be held at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville to discuss opportunities resulting from new dual enrollment legislation and the impact for local career technical training.
 
WHO:  Representatives from Wallace State Community College, the Department of Postsecondary Education, the local Legislative Delegation, and Business and Industry will speak. These groups, along with other elected officials, area superintendents, high school principals and counselors have been invited to attend.
 
WHAT:  New dual enrollment opportunities for business and industry, taxpayers, and students
 
WHEN:  Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 10:00 a.m.
 
WHERE:  Wallace State Community College, Industrial Electronics Building, 801 Main St. NW, Hanceville, AL 35077 (map attached)
WHY:  New legislation allows businesses and individuals to donate funds for career technical dual enrollment and receive tax credits for up to 50 percent of the donation not to exceed $500,000 nor an amount greater than 50 percent of the taxpayer’s Alabama income tax liability. Donors can direct that up to 80 percent of contributions be allocated to specific career technical programs at a particular institution.
