CDL, health, defensive driving, genealogy classes and more offered at WSCC

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Wallace State Community College’s Continuing Education program is offering a number of opportunities for persons seeking additional certification, a new career or new skills.
For persons looking to fill many of the jobs open for drivers, CDL classes are offered during the day as well as a new weekend/evening option that lets you continue working while learning a new career. New classes are offered every month.
Those in the healthcare field have several opportunities to work toward continuing education credits or to earn new credentials.
Phlebotomy classes will be held Oct. 21 through Dec. 19, on Tuesday and Thursdays from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Certified Nursing Assisting (C.N.A.) classes will be held on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Oct. 21 through Dec. 19.
CPR classes for healthcare providers will be held Sept. 16 and Sept. 25 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The fee is $50.
Food service professionals can take Servesafe classes from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Oct. 6, 7 and 13. The cost is $150.
Defensive driving courses meet regularly for those who have been on the receiving end of a traffic ticket. Permission from a judge is required, and the fee is $35.

– Photoshop Elements: Thursdays, Sept. 11-Oct. 16, 6 to 8 p.m., $75
– Living Naturally: Sept. 16-17, 5:30-8:30 p.m., $25
– Computer Genealogy: Sept. 25-24, 5-8 p.m., $25
