Wallace State Holds Ceremony for Scholarship Recipients

HANCEVILLE, ALA.—Area students awarded scholarships by Wallace State Community College in Hanceville were recognized during a ceremony on campus recently. Wallace State annually awards more than $1 million in scholarships to students.
“You are joining an outstanding student body and a college which is among the top 120 community colleges in the nation,” said Wallace State President Dr. Vicki Karolewics. “We are committed to helping you succeed.”
Wallace State annually awards Presidential, Leadership, Academic Excellence, Health, Career Technical, Performing Arts and Athletic scholarships in addition to providing scholarships for senior citizens, and GED graduates. The Wallace State Alumni Association and Future Foundation also award scholarships each year.
Additionally, the college provides students with federal and state-funded financial assistance such as Pell Grants, WIA/TRA funds, Stafford loans, and the college work-study program. Registration for summer semester classes continues through May 26 for regular summer term classes. Summer Mini-Term II registration is June 26 for classes that begin June 29.
