Wallace State basketball teams pick up road victories at Columbia State

HANCEVILLE – Wallace State’s basketball teams each notched road victories at Columbia (Tenn.) State on Wednesday. The Wallace State men prevailed 59-47, snapping a three-game losing skid behind Jacquise Moore’s third double-double of the season. The sophomore guard finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Jamalcolm Griffin scored a team-high 16 points for the Lions, Ryan King poured in 14 and freshman Jestin Lewis contributed 10 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Wallace State (6-3) led 31-28 at the half.
Wallace State women 67, Columbia State 48
The Lady Lions dominated the second half, pulling away from Columbia State after being tied at 25 at halftime. Freshman Jaylan Snowden led Wallace State with 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Ashley Nance added nine points and seven rebounds for the Lady Lions, Jordan Quick, a Cullman grad, had nine points, Presley Darling had eight points and collected seven rebounds and Kendall Greene finished with six points and six rebounds.
Wallace State (5-3) outrebounded Columbia State 61-48.
Both Wallace State teams host Wallace-Selma on Saturday, beginning with the women’s game at 2 p.m.
