WSCC Alumni Association plans trips for 2016; $100 discount on Costa Rica trip through Oct. 23

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Alumni Association is planning a number of trips to popular tourist destinations in the United States and abroad. Traveling as a group, the trips offer competitive rates and prospects for building lifelong friendships and memories.
Upcoming trips include a one-day visit to Atlanta to see “Bodies: The Exhibition.” The April 8 trip includes transportation to and from Atlanta and admission to the exhibit. Lunch is Dutch treat. The cost for the trip is $55.
The Association will lead an overseas trip to Costa Rica April 23-May 1, 2016. Next will be a June 2016 trip to the Pacific Northwest. From June 17-24, a group will travel from Portland to San Francisco. Another trip in the works is a September 2016 Civil War Trail tour.
All trips include transportation to and from the airport, round trip airfare, accommodations, luggage and transfer fees, admission to attractions on the itinerary, professionally guided tours and transportation to and from locations on the itinerary. The itinerary usually includes free time to spend at your leisure. Alumni Association members benefit from discounted fees for the trips. The general public is welcome to join in on the trips and can join the Alumni Association if they wish to take advantage of the discounts offered to members.
A $100 discount is being offered for the Costa Rica trip to each person who signs up by Oct. 23. Rates start at $2,419 and go up to $3,049, depending on occupancy of each room. The trip itinerary includes stops visits to San Jose, Doka Coffee Estate, Guanacaste (including 2 nights at a beach front resort), Monteverde Cloud Forest, Selvatura Park, Lake Arenal Cruise, Arenal Volcano, a cooking demonstration, Cano Negro Guided River Tour, Zacero, Plaza de Cultura and the National Theatre. Additional options include a Jungle Canopy Zipline Tour, Spa Treatments at he Arenal Springs Hotel and a four-day, three-night Jungle Adventure Post Tour.

Rates for the Pacific Northwest Tour start at $2,895 and go up to $3,695. Locations scheduled on the itinerary include the Columbia River Gorge, Portland Rose Garden, Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Cape Perpetua Lookout, Sand Dune Adventure, Crater Lake National Park, Rogue River Jet Boat Adventure, Avenue of the Giants and San Francisco City Tour.

Rates for the nine-day Civil War Trail trip start at $1,500 and go up to $2,100. The trip includes stops in Lexington, VA., Harpers Ferry National Historic Park, Gettysburg National Battlefield, Fredricksburg Battlefield and more.
