Wallace State men’s basketball hosting Hampton Inn Thanksgiving Bash on Nov. 27-28

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Wallace State’s men’s basketball team is hosting the inaugural Hampton Inn Thanksgiving Bash on Nov. 27-28 at Tom Drake Coliseum. The two-day event begins Friday and features high school and college teams.
High schools participating in the tournament are Central-Florence, Cleveland, Faith Academy, Fort Payne, Guntersville, Haleyville, Hatton and defending Class 4A champ West Limestone. Guntersville is the high school tournament host.
Wallace State, Gadsden State, North American (Texas) University and South Georgia Technical College make up the collegiate field.
“We’re excited to have what I feel like are eight strong high school teams on campus. There will be some local teams and others who are established across the state. I feel like the college portion is also a good addition. We hope to attract your basketball fan who loves both the high school and college game,” said Wallace State coach John Meeks. “We grateful for Hampton Inn agreeing to sponsor the tournament. It should be a fun one.”
Admission is $8. Games begin at noon on Friday and 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Wallace State’s men are off to an impressive 7-1 start entering Monday night’s game at Wallace Community College-Selma.
