Students are encouraged to meet with an advisor early to establish a plan of study to accomplish their educational and career goals. Financial Aid information can be found at wallacestate.edu/financial-aid.
Wallace State offers classes during the day, evening and weekends at both campuses.  Many courses are available online, and several programs have completely online completion options, including Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Computer Science, Child Development, Business, Computer Science, Health Information Technology (HIT), Medical Coding, Patient Care Specialist, Pharmacy Technology and Polysomnography Technologist.
Within the past year, Wallace State was selected as one of 30 community colleges in the United States to participate in the Pathways Project initiative, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.  The Pathways Project involves a rethinking and redesign of the student experience from enrollment through completion. Through Pathways, Wallace State students will have less pressure at the outset to choose a major; rather, they will identify the pathway – Liberal Arts/General Studies, Applied Technologies, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), or Health Science – which best aligns with their strengths and interests. The coursework taken early in their college study will be applicable to any major within the pathway. Later, when they have had a chance to do career exploration in the new GPS Freshman Seminar and have begun to build an e-portfolio, then they will have a better notion of a well-suited major, at the right time for more specialized courses. Pathways is designed to streamline the path to completion, improve success, and reduce wasted time spent changing majors.
