HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The Wallace State Community College Alumni Association will host a Travel Preview Showcase meeting for those interested in learning about upcoming opportunities sponsored by the organization. The meeting will be held Tuesday, Aug. 18, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., on the 12th floor of the James C. Bailey Center.
Each year, the Alumni Association puts together a number of trips to popular tourist destinations in the United States. Traveling as a group, the trips offer competitive rates and prospects for building lifelong friendships and memories.
The meeting will outline tours that are scheduled in the near future and those that are in the works. Representatives from the partner companies involved in planning the trips will be on hand to answer questions.
The next trip on their agenda is a Sedona Holiday Tour in December that includes a full day at the Grand Canyon as well as tours in and around Sedona, Ariz. A one-day visit to Atlanta to see “Bodies: The Exhibition” is another trip planned by the Alumni Association.
More trips that are in the works include trips to Costa Rica (the Association’s first trip planned outside the U.S.), the Pacific Northwest (from Portland to San Francisco) and a Civil War Trail tour. All of the tours offered by the Alumni Association normally include guided tours, admission to attractions, round trip airfare, transportation to and from the airport as well as locally, lodging, baggage fees and some meals. Along with guided tours, the itinerary usually includes free time to spend on your own endeavors.
Alumni Association members benefit from discounted fees for the trips. The general public is welcome to join in on the trips and can join the Alumni Association if they wish to take advantage of the discounts offered to members.
